The secondary pyelonephritis activity dynamics after antireflux operations in children operated on the vesico-ureteral reflux

SUMMARY

The secondary pyelonephritis activity dynamics was analyzed in 30 (48 ureters) children operated on the vesico-ureteral reflux before and 12 months after antireflux operations. The results were analyzed in terms of gray scale ultrasonography data , clinical symptoms and laboratory assessment of the urinary bladder levels of the NAG. The operative elimination of the vesico-ureteral reflux seems to be the leading pathogenic factor in secondary pyelonephritis treatment. According to the assessment results it was estimated that restoration of the impaired upper urinary tract urodynamics and pyelonephritis elimination need long time to occur: the retention changes cease in 6 months but NAG urinary bladder levels demonstrate to remain elevated. The final upper urinary tract urodynamics restoration and pyelonephritis elimination with urinary analyses and NAG urinary bladder levels rehabilitation occur in 12 months.
