SUMMARY
The risk of positive surgical margins based on clinic-morphological parameters and its effect on reccurence-free survival was investigated in 192 patients who have undergone radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. Positive surgical margins detected in 49 (25.5%) patients. Biochemical recurrence was in 36.7% of cases with positive surgical margins and 7.7% in its absence (p <0.05). Multiple surgical margins was in 7 cases, all have reccurence. There is tendency to earlier reccurence in patients with a positive surgical margins. Patients with high risk by D’Amico and PSA density more 0.3 ng/ml/cmі have increased risk of positive surgical margins. The impact of neoadjuvant hormone therapy on surgical margins status was not found.
