Using modern external beam radiotherapytechniques of treatment patients for prostatecancer with different treatment programs
SUMMARY
In this article are presented thepossibilities of using external beam radiotherapy with different treatment programsfor patients with prostate cancer (definitive, adjuvant, palliative care and salvage therapy). IMRT techniques with middle mode of fractionation use better when prostate gland volume less than 80.0 cm3. Salvage therapy decrease in the elevated PSA levels in 100% of patients. IGRT allows the correction of the irradiation field to within 1.54 mm. Symptomatic radiotherapy has proved to be an effective means of reducing bone pain approximately 71.9% of patients.
