Status prooxidant-antioxidant balance and level of inflammatory mediators in patients with chronic calculous pyelonephritis active phase currents

SUMMARY

The purpose of our study was to examine the state of prooxidant-antioxidant balance and level of inflammatory mediators in patients with chronic calculous pyelonephritis in a phase of active flows. The survey was conducted in 41 patients, 30 women and 11 men (mean age 53,8 ± 1,1 years). The data obtained were compared with data in the control group, which consisted of 27 healthy individuals. Detected changes and metabolic condition of the glutathione redox potential in particular in the body of patients is an important link in the pathogenesis of inflammation in patients with active chronic calculous pyelonephritis. All observed patients significantly increases the level of eicosanoids studied (P < 0.05), indicating the presence of inflammation in the kidney, is not detectable by conventional diagnostic methods. Found that patients in the control group is observed increase in the content of the thiol and disulphide forms of glutathione and lipid peroxidation products, namely malondialdehyde and diene conjugates in the blood, as well as disulfide and thiol groups of proteins in the blood and urine, indicating the presence in the body of patients expressed the state of oxidative stress and antioxidant-prooxidant violation of balance.
