O.V. Ljulko, V.P. Stus
By the early 30’s urological care to the population developed in two ways: by the venerologists and as part of surgery.
In 1923, chairman of the department of general surgery Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute appointed MD, Professor V.N. Derevianko, who headed it in 1930. The base was the surgical department of hospital №2. After a good school S.P. Fedorov, he was first who introduced the tool urological research and operations on the urinary tract in Dnipropetrovsk.
In 1923, at City Hospital № 2, was launched 20 urological beds, which became the base of Dnepropetrovsk Institute of Advanced Medical and docent base rate of Urology Medical Institute, who led the professor B.T. Fux.
In May 1935 in Dnepropetrovsk organized urological society as a section Ukrainian urological societies. It brought together urologists, cystoscopists, venerologists, surgeons, gynecologists. The first Chairman of the Society, was elected associate professor Boris T. Fux..
In 1974, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Scientific-Practical Society elected Professor O.V. Ljulko in the same year at the urology department of the regional hospital. II Mechnikov organized by the Department of Urology, headed by MD, Professor O.V. Ljulko
It was III Ukraine Congress of urologists in Dnipropetrovsk in October 1980.
At the initiative of the Department in 1996 began publishing the magazine «Medical Perspectives» and in 1997 Ukrainian scientific-practical journal «Urology».
Department of Urology, operative surgery and topographic anatomy by order of the Rector DSMA was created by merging the Department of Urology, operative surgery and topographic anatomy. From 1 October 2011 appointed chairman of the department MD, Professor V.P. Stus.
There are 133 urologists in Dnipropetrovsk region: 3 MD, 15 PhD, 22 - have a higher level of proficiency, 40 - first and 29 - second.
