The peculiarities of hormonal status in males of different age groups and possibilities of their correction

SUMMARY

447 healthy males aged from 25 to 64 years have been examined. Survey has been conducted on questionnaire Aging Males Symptoms Scale. Levels of testosterone, testosteronebinding globulin, FSH and LH, prolactin were determined by ELISA. It was found that in males, since 45 years of age, dishormonal state was present, which was characterized by decreased level of testosterone and increased levels of FSH, LH, prolactin and testosteronebinding globulin in the blood, increased AMS score. In males aged 55-64 years the aggravation of pathological changes and the presence of marked dishormonal statewere fixed. The use of medications with cytoprotective, antioxidant and neuroprotective effect, as well as herbal remedies on the basis of steroid saponins aimed to correct the identified age-related changes in males aged 55-64 years led to increase in level of testosterone, decrease in leves of FSH and LH, prolactin and testosteronebinding globulin, as well as decrease of AMS score.
