SUMMARY
The study is based on an data analysis of 75 cases of kidney resection due to renal cell cancer. Tumor size ranged 2-4cm (average 3.5cm). Maximal term of observation was 15 years, the minimal - a month (average - 5 years 9 months). 5-year survival was analyzed using the Kaplan-Mier method. The goal was to define indications for organ-preserving operations based on analysis of long-term results. The 5-year rate of cancer-specific survival was 84.1%. Outcome of partial kidney resection in kidney cancer patients can be improved by mean of proper patient selection. One should take into account the complex prognostic factors, among which tumor size is important.
