Dynamics of oxidative modification of blood plasma proteins in patients with acute epididymitis under the influence of treatment

In our study, an attempt was made to elucidate the diagnostic and prognostic significance of the level of oxidative modification of proteins in the blood plasma of patients with acute epididymitis during treatment. In all examined patients before treatment, an increase in the level of products of oxidative modification of proteins was detected. During the period of admission to hospital all levels of products of oxidative modification of proteins were high in all patients with acute epididymitis, which indicates a high oxidative stress in this disease. During treatment, these rates gradually decreased to normal. The obtained data can be used both for monitoring of treatment and for recovery of patients.
