Cystectomy with resection of the prostate and orthotopic enterocystoplasty in patiens with bladder cancer: oncological and functional results
SUMMARY
The immediate and long-term results of operation in patients with bladder cancer after cystectomy with resection of the prostate and orthotopic enterocystoplasty (17 patients) in comparison with results in patients after classical radical cystectomy and orthotopic enterocystoplastic (18 patiens) were studied. It is concluded that the preservation of the prostate in bladder cancer patients who need radical cystectomy and orthotopic neobladder formation can improve the functional results of the surgery without compromising cancer-specific survival.
