SUMMARY
Horseshoe kidney is the most frequent kidney fusion anomaly. The majority of patients with this pathology are asymptomatic. When symptoms are present they are associated with hydronephrosis, nephrolithiasis, inflammation, and, in small percentage with neoplasma. Prognosis and survival rate of patients with tumors of the horseshoe kidney are dependant on tumor pathology and stage. In the literature we found less than 140 cases of such pathology. We report a case of renal cell carcinoma in a 56-year-old woman and depict our experience in its management.
